  1. 1. In my life, I try yet find it hard to incorporate the three A's of awesome into my lives. The hardest A is attitude because I find it very challenging to move onward after I am conflicted with a problem. For example, recently there was an earthquake in New Zealand and more and more people have been confirmed as either deceased or missing. In times like these, it can be very difficult to not worry about friends and people I knew in New Zealand. However, if I can stand up, accept the present, and move on, I believe I will relieve myself of future distress. In this way, people can choose to get back on their feet with a positive attitude, looking to the future while remembering the lessons of the past.

The second A is somewhat easier for me and anyone else if they can have a broad mind. I can incorporate awareness into my life by noticing the little details around my environment. For example, in the school, I can notice the trees and grass that surround the campus to make it a better environment or the fact that workers in the cafeteria have to serve over 400 people everyday yet they manage to have a positive attitude all the time. For me, when I become aware of something that was always present, I feel as if I have slightly lifted the boundaries of my life. Through this, I can truly appreciate all that has been presented to me and make the most of them.

The final A is possibly the easiest for me but more challenging to other people. When we think of being authentic, we can worry that we will not be accepted for who we are, especially in high school. However, for me, if I have to worry about what everyone thinks about me, I feel that I will slowly become someone I never wanted to be. Therefore, I try to stay true to myself and be who I am. For example, though I do not talk very often, I feel I can hum songs without having to worry about what other people might think of me. Also, I can choose not to worry about what to wear for school, for I like to dress in whatever is available and appropriate for school. In short, I choose to be who I am mostly through my own will.

    2. The Three A’s of Awesome are related to the Western Civilization course by first people’s attitude towards the world what caused revolutions and discoveries to be made. For example, due to the curious attitude medieval philosophers thought about the world, the Renaissance period began. Due to the nationalistic attitude of people in empires, nation-states were built and ancient empires crumbled. Second, people became aware of inequalities or questions in their lives and wanted to do something about them. Inequalities brought about revolutions such as the French Revolution and questions caused the Enlightenment and Scientific Revolution to begin. Finally, for authenticity, the most famous individuals in history were people who were true to their beliefs and were willing to fight for what they thought was true or right. Additionally, this is what caused nationalism to rise in Europe.

    3. There are many things in my life which, if I realized it existed, I would consider as awesome. However, for now, one thing that is awesome for the world is that you can talk and spread information to people around the world, even if you are thousands of miles away. In my daily life, though, something awesome is that whenever I am thirsty, I can find something to drink, which something I should not take for granted. This is because there are people who cannot afford or find drinking water for days and often even longer.

If we have the right attitude towards problems, become aware of our gifts, and be true to who we are, it is possible to live a meaningful and grateful life.

P.S. An interesting research that was done was to number the entire alphabet, starting with A as 1, B as 2, and so on. The goal was to find a word that adds up to 100. The word that fit this requirement was ATTITUDE.

For me the three A's of awesome are very important. I saw that I was using these three A's of awesome without konwing it. For example attitude. I came to Korea this year and it is always diffficult for anyone to move to a different country. Having a posilitve attitude helped me to cope up with the new surrounding and therefore made it easier for me.

Just being myself would have been a good idea. I lacked the skill to be cool just as myself. I tried to things that were extraordinary but miserably failed. In my previous school there was this game called handcricket in which you only needed your hands. Everyone liked it, so I tried it, failed, tried, failed again, tried, failed again, and so on. Then I thought that no matter what I do I cannot win in this game, so I decided not to play the game. I just became my self again and found that life was much better without handcricket.

I also found that there were small things in my life that kept me happy like playing video games, P.E., and other stuff. Previously I just did not acknoladge that these things were a major part of the life and kept me in a possitive attitude.

In our west civ class having a possitive attitude is very important because otherwise one can never finish the homework on time.
Be aware of the due date because often it is very confusing.

I think awesome means just amazing. Awesome is doing a job the way an expert would do it. At least that is what I think.

  3. 1. - When I do bad on a test or feel sad, I try to change my attitude by shifting my thoughts to better things so that I won't mope around all day.
    - Sometimes when I try to be happy, I pretend like I'm three-years-old and I feel better already.
    - When I be authentic, I feel good that I'm being myself and not following others because that's what you need to do to fit in.
    2. If we have a great attitude to learn, we learn better and faster. If we let ourselves go and ask questions and answer questions, class will go greatly and you can just be yourself in class.
    3. An awesome thing in my life is that there are friends everywhere that you can make <3

  4. 1. I try to incorporate the three A's of awesome into my life. I incorporate the first A, awesome into my life by being happy and easy to please. I can do this by having lower expetations for things. If I have low expectations for things, then I will not be disappointed when things don't turn out the way I wanted them to. An example of how I incorporate attitude into my life is when something bad happens in my life, I try to stay happy. I think about all the positive things in my life and I try to find ways to solve the bad things.

For the second A, awareness, I try to think like a little child. My friends often call me clueless and immature because of my childish-ness. However, my ability to think like a child lets me enjoy life and be aware of all the wonderful things around me.

For example, when I see something I've never seen before, I become interested and full of awareness.

For the last A, authenticity, I am not very good at incorporating it into my life. When I'm at school or an place other than home, I am not myself. At school, I am shy and calm but my real self is very talkative and loud. Also, I don't have a very strong opinion so I can't really do what I want and be who I want to be when I'm around others.

    2. The three A's of awesome realte to the westciv course because while taking this course, I think that it's really important to have a good attitude, have awareness, and be authentic. Its important to have a good attitude because at times, this course can get challenging. When it gets challenging and if you have a good attitude, then you will have a positive view on the work load and it will be much easier to do well. If you don't have a good attitude, then it will be harder to succeed in this course. Being pessimistic will get you no where. Lastly, it is important to my authentic in this course because I think that being yourself around your peers and teacher will help them understand you better.

    3. I think something that is awesome is something that is good, and something everybody likes. It could be a person or a thing.

  5. 1.
    – When I fail a test or feel sad about something which results to a change of my attitude. I try to change the attitude I have by thinking something else and not coming to the things that will make me be a negative person
    - I try to be happy, by just social interacting with people and telling people what should I do, so I can cheer up
    - I feel good that I am myself and act like myself.

    2.
    - If we have the attitude and desire to learn, we can learn more topics and subjects in a shorter amount of time.

    3.
    - An awesome thing in my life is everything what I have right now. Parents, friends, going to a good school, and a lot more

  6. Wow, i found this vidio really inspirational, i think it changed my outlook on life somewhat. I think my attitude could be more positive, i dont think i could move on if i saw my life falling apart around me like he did. My attitude depends on whats happening to me during the day, i feel great if i'm having a good day and i feel down when my day isn't so great.
I'm not sure how awareness affects me, but i think his message is enjoy the little things in life. I think thats a life lesson we all should obey.
I think i'm an authentic person, i express my views. I do what i feel like doing. If you express yourself, your emotions will be clearer and you will be able to truly feel hapy doing the things you want to do, not the things others pressure you to do.

I don't think they relate to this west civ corse. They seem more like life skills than educational material.

The awsome things in my life are hanging out with my friends, scoring a goal, try, run or touchdown, settling down reading a book with my cat asleep on my lap, taking a shower after working out, a debate where i fight for what i belive in, the comraderie of being on a team and working together to score, the atmosphere of a sports game, coming home after a long day and falling on my bed; these are the awsome things of my life.

  7. On a daily basis I think I incorporate a positive attitude. When Manchester United loose a match I let the odd comment from a friend or foe roll off my back, when I really want to tell them where to go and how to get there. But I realize they are unfortunate souls who suffer far more pain supporting lesser clubs and have to take joy in the defeat of the greatest club in earth.

Awareness is the “A” of awesome that I have the most trouble incorporating. When we first moved to Seoul it was easy, but now I forget to take in the beauty of Seoul and Korea. The honeymoon phase has passed and it is beginning to feel like home, but I think taking the time to see the country, city, and culture through the eyes of the three year old could bring new perspectives and could change how we live here.

Authenticity is the “A” of awesome I incorporate the most into my life on a daily basis. As a teacher, I am a nerd with incorporating technology into the classroom. I love it and love learning how to do so more efficiently. I think interacting with students in an authentic way has taken time for me to feel comfortable doing. It has taken the past 6 months for me to feel comfortable in the classroom and start to develop relationships with the students. Feeling that I can be myself at work has really started to make it more enjoyable.

As for being authentic in life, I have no problem. For example, I have recently started gardening and have started an indoor herb garden in our home. At first Kyla and our friends thought I was crazy, but now the plants have brought life into our home and will soon bring flavor to our meals. Other areas in life where authenticity has been incorporated has been with music. I taught myself guitar, even when friends and family begged me to stop playing, but now they enjoy it. Another area has been with our dogs. It became a running joke In Turkey because we kept adopting puppies we found in town. We came with one and left with three. That leads me into what I think is awesome.

One of the most “Awesome” things I can think of is: When you come to your dogs. No one in your life will be as excited to see you as your dogs are. If I were to greet visitors into our home as our dogs Tika and Tarsus do, people would think I was crazy. But maybe they would feel more loved. Now there is a way to approach life.

I look forward to reading your comments on the “Three A’s of Awesome.”

  8. I try corporate the three A’s of awesome into my life but it can sometimes be tough.
Attitude- When I have a bad day in school like getting a bad mark or having a fight with my friend, I try to think positive that tomorrow will be a better day and everything will work out. I think having a good attitude towards things can help your life so much because you are just not looking at the negative sides. You are also looking at the positives like you will become a better person by learning a lesson from the mistake.
Awareness- I think this is the hardest one. When I moved to Seoul, it was a completely different compare to Switzerland like food and I felt really excited to be here. I want to learn more things that I haven’t discovered here yet.
Authenticity- I feel that it’s really important to express your thoughts and not go with the flow. You shouldn’t just keep your thoughts to yourself because your ideas make up who you are and should be confident about yourself.

I think that the three A’s of awesome relates to the West Civ. course because I think it’s really important to have a positive attitude toward what we are learning and should be aware of something that have happened in the past. I think by taking this course, we will learn have a better understanding about the world and might help us throughout our lives.

I think awesome is the most important aspects of our life, even thought we tend to forget them. I should be thankful for everything I have in my life like great family, friends and the environment that I’m living now.

  9. 1. The three A's are incorporated in my life everyday. The first A is attitude, and I think this is the toughest to incorporate. I try to stay positive when I get a failing grade or have a hard time with my family and friends. Thinking positively helps you learn from your mistakes and not to do it again. When I get a bad grade, I try to stay positive so I can try harder next time. If I keep on complaining about my grade, nothing will be solved and I would just be depressed.

The second A is awareness, and I try to be aware of all the great things around me. I am aware of what happens at school and home, and everywhere else. For instance, sometimes it is hard to appreciate all the good things in life. I should be aware of the environment around me.

The third A is authenticity. This is what I incorporate the most in my life. With my friends, I am real and act who I am. I have to be true to myself and be true to my friends. It is important for me to express my feelings and sometimes I should learn how to voice my opinions during class or with other people.

    2. The three A's relate to the west civ course because the A's are incorporated everywhere. Many of the intelligent and famous people in our textbook used the A's to invent things and help the world. Most of the people did not give up and were true to themselves. Also, incorporating the A's in the class will make it better. Staying positive and wanting to learn will help me improve my grades. I should ask questions when I need help and be authentic. I should be real to the teachers and not act like someone else.

    3. I think there are so many awesome things in my life. I try to appreciate everyone and everything around me. One awesome thing in my life is when your childhood friends you haven't talked to talks to you. You thought that they forgot about you and don't care but then they actually do care. I am very grateful to have such great friends in my life.

  10. 1. How do you, or don't you, incorporate the three A's of awesome into your life? Please share with examples.

➢ You can set an example by a positive attitude such as when I did not have a great day or when I had a great day there is nothing better that can stop me when I have a smile. Will to win ( Games and competitive sports)

➢ I am always aware what is going around the world, I feel this sense of sadness when I hear that some people are a lot less fortunate than I am, or even when my family or friends are not feeling well I try my hardest to comfort them and make sure they feel better.

➢ For me to be Authentic is just to be happy to be how I am!

    2. How do the three A's of awesome relate to the West Civ course?

➢ The three A’s in my opinion do not relate to west civ.

    3. What do you think is Awesome?

Awsome for me is that when I make my family and friends and others around me happy. I also think awesome is when I see people getting there dream come true.

  11. 1. I feel like attitude is very important because if I feel bad and have trouble in life I know that i can always rely on my friends and they know that they can always rely on me which is important so that you dont feel down all the time and when I do feel down I always know that there is someone i can lean on. I dont really aware things that happen. Even if a lot of horrible things happen around the world i cant take it to me enough to get depressed. Also i have never had a friend that has had sever accidents. Authenticity is the most important out of all of the 3 A's. I feel like everyone should have their own opinion and not always rely on other peoples opinions. For example if someones giving me a hard time i dont listen to what they say and i just move on and when someones giving my friends a hard time i stand up for them and I try my best to make sure that they dont feel down about it.

    2. The 3 A's of awesome is important to every humans life so i believe that people in the past also tried to incorporate the 3 A's of awesome.

    3. What do you think is Awesome?
My friends and people i care about are awesome. Thats why i love Facebook. Also my family is awesome because we are cool like that :)

  12. 1. Attitude: At times I do have a good attitude. For example, sometimes when I do badly on a test I just take a deep breath and look at what I do not know and try to understand it. At times I have a bad attitude, like when I lose things, I get terribly panicked. I become very miserable and anxious.
Awareness: I don't believe I incorporate awareness into my life. I don't appreciate life as much as I know I should. I feel too mixed up into school to think of the people that have a difficult life. I take life for granted and don't appreciate it.
Authenticity: I do incorporate this into my life. I don't know if I would be able to bear living if I weren't myself and did not talk to people I want to talk to. An example is the fact that I joined the play. Soon after joining it I found out that my best friend could not participate in it. This completely crushed me. I was afraid of being alone, with people I don't know. But I did it. I love acting-- it's my passion, so I decided to just do it. I don't regret this choice.

    2. Attitude: The attitude of people in history reflected their actions greatly.
Awareness: Appreciating life and the like has been mentioned by philosophers.
Authenticity: In class we are allowed to give our own opinions on a subject.

    3. I think my friends, my family, funny Youtube videos, comics, video games, and songs are awesome.

  13. 1. How do you, or don't you, incorporate the three A's of awesome into your life? Please share with examples.
    - I can incorporate the three A's of awesome into my life, however, it just I need to work hard to incorporate three A's into my life. The first A is attitude, second A was awareness, and the last A was authenticity.

Well, First A, attitude. I try to move on when there is a bad news, or things. Right now, I am injured. I got injured during soccer. I was very sad, and when I went to see doctor, he said, you need a rest. I was shocked, and disappointed to my self. I just couldn't handle this. But I decided to make my feel better. I changed my mind and though this might be a good chance to make my left leg stronger, or now I can sit on the bus without saying anything. Or something like that. I just tried to make me happy and to have a positive attitude. I know it was very hard for me, but I tried. And that helped me, so now I realized that being happy and having positive attitude helps you are lot. This relates to with my grade, I know that everyone has at least one subject that you don't like, and if you get bad grade on that, I take that mistake and try to learn from it. So being positive attitude is a great things that you can do.

Second A is awareness, as he said, I try to be aware and see things. I also try to look around the world. Be like a three years old kids. That's exactly what I would like to do from now. I used to be aware of all the things that happened during school time, or common things. But now, I realized that I decided to be like a three years old kid and try to be aware for everything that are around me. I should be aware of the great things, or even the bad news. Like the news that we will not be able to live after 2012, or other news. I tried to be aware of everything around me.

The last A, authenticity. This is very important. To your parents, friends, or others, I try to show my real personality and tell them the truth. I know this is the hardest things that I can incorporate. Like lots of people are different between at their house and at school, but at least, I will try to show my real personality and truth at school, or other places. Also, I learned harmonica, guitar, and violin and lots of music instrument. I started violin when I was four years old because I wanted to do different style of music than my two other brothers. And it worked. I feel very comfortable at my house because I am the only one who can play violin at my house!! I think these things are very awesome.

    2. How do the three A's of awesome relate to the West Civ course?
I think three A's of awesome relates to West civ course because you need to have a good positive attitude. For example, you need to learn new histories and memorize them. But if you don't have a positive attitude to learn these things, I don't think i can study very well. Positive attitude is a very important things that you need to have in West civ Class.

    3. What do you think is Awesome?
For me, awesome things are everywhere, but you just need to find them. If I just stand here, and watch, I won't be able to find awesome things, but if I try to find awesome things, I can find a lot. For example, my friends are very awesome, school, teachers, family members, and others are also awesome. There are lots of things that are awesome. My computer is awesome. I can do everything with my computer. I can type like what I am doing right now, I can research on google or Yahoo, I can do a lot of things. So computer is also awesome. So if I try, the word, "Awesome" is everywhere.

  14. 1. I try to use the three A's of awesome in my life, although that can be hard sometimes.

The first one being attitude is not easy. I could feel angry at receiving a horrible test grade or thing not going the way I planned. Whenever this happens, I try to think positive. This may not work sometimes if I receive horrible grades but if I receive an average grade, then I tell myself that next time, I can receive better grades. Having a positive attitude is not easy to maintain but I try to and this helps greatly.

The second one being awareness, is something that is included in my life all the time. Some thing could be the simplest things of knowing when a certain homework is due for a certain subject or when a certain person's birthday is. A large one will be knowing when there are going to be tests as this helps me prepare for the tests, linking in with positive attitude.

The last one would be authenticity. This can be hard especially in a new place but around my friends, I try to be who I am. By being myself, I can express my views and thoughts. However, this is hard to do when I am with people that I do not know as I tend to become reserved.

    2. I believe that the three A's of awesome relate to our West. Civ. course as the events that happen in history have these in mind. Authenticity could be the revolutions that happened while awareness could even be the events happening around the world right now.

    3. I believe that almost everything in my life is awesome. Except for some events that happened, my life could be said that it is, "pretty awesome." An awesome even in my life will be meeting my brother at the airport every summer and winter break. As he currently attends college in the States, the event of seeing him is great.

    ReplyDelete
  15. So the first A of awesome is attitude, and for me personally, I think it is the hardest. I do try to keep control of my temper most of the time but it can sometimes slip, and when things go wrong I do tend to stay depressed or sad. It is difficult for me as I go through many problems especially between my family and I try to let it go and keep a positive attitude whilst I'm hanging with mates or at school, and not try to let out my anger onto someone else.

The second is awareness, and I believe that this is something that I do daily. Sometimes I like to drift on in my own little world, look at the world surrounding me, taking everysingle detail in and thinking bout how I could interpret these things into my drawings. I actually have a 4yaer old sister and she definitely points out things that I've never really thought about before.

The third and final A of awesome is authenticity. I am always myself wherever I am and I don't like changing myself for someone else. Everyone is unique or special in their own way and I believe that you should cherish that. I guess being with different types of people tend to change who you are and your personality, which is that hardest part of authenticity, so I believe you should be true to yourself and if you can do that then you won't need to worry about what others say about you. Authenticity defines each individual and it defines me for who I am, not who I am trying to be.

I guess these A's relate to the west civ course because firstly people tend to have a bad attitude towards many things, but by having a positive attitude students can begin to achieve more and learn new things from their failures and mistakes. Also it relates because people looked at the world differently with awareness and by taking steps to change it or to improve itby discovering new things that wouldn't have been possible without having awareness. Authenticity definitely relates to West civ as if people were not being themselves and standing up for their beliefs things would not have been the way they are today.

What I consider awesome is most definitely friends as they are a bit part of life and each unique ability that each individual owns is also awesome. Some people are better at others in certain areas, and I believe having this individual quality is pretty damn awesome.

  16. 1. I try very hard to have a good attitude toward life, although I am not necessarily always to achieve this. I am often able to have a good attitude towards school initially, but I often have a hard time carrying out this good attitude. Keeping this good attitude after I get a good grade is easy, but after getting a bad grade, I often find it hard to keep this good attitude. Despite this, I am able to maintain my good attitude toward school most of the time. My attitude toward life is also much the same as my attitude toward school. My attitude toward my family, on the other hand, is not usually so good. I find it hard to keep a good attitude toward my family when we have arguments or disagreements.

I think that I had an awareness in life, but I am slowly losing it and I have to find it. I realize now that I have a failing sense of awareness as I am losing my appreciation of the world around me. I no longer celebrate or realize the different parts of the world. I’m not seeing the “awesome” things in the world around me and I no longer appreciate the world’s wonders. After seeing this I now realize that there is an importance to appreciating the world.

I feel that my authenticity is the strongest in me of the three A’s of awesome. I feel that I practice this A readily. I don’t accept influence on my character and try to express myself. I do what I feel is right for me, and I be who I am. When I catalogue stamps or coins I feel at peace with myself and feel that I know myself better.

    2. This course is very directly related to the three A’s, and in all of learning. In learning, a good attitude is necessary and important. If it is not maintained it can bring you down if you don’t receive what you want in a class. Having awareness during this course is very important to appreciate the wonders of this world. History is a very important part of this world and it shows the very amazing part of how this world progresses. Being aware of this is very important.

    3. I think that everything in my life is amazing. From my family to school, all of life is a miracle. Living this life is also a miracle that is amazing. From being able to go to school to the electronic signals your nerves send to your brain, everything is truly amazing. Everything effects everything else in this world, a true miracle.

  17. 1) I incorporate the three A's of awesome everyday of my life even if I may not realize it. The first A, attitude, is probably what affects me the most. It's how i react to some event or deal with some mandatory stuff like going to school. If I have a positive attitude, like it's going to help me become a better person or that I will be able to see my friends at school, then it becomes easier to deal with. Sometimes though, I may be sad or a bit depressed because sometimes I feel like my brother is being unreasonable or I feel like I don't have a purpose. Sometimes feels so repetitive that it drives me nuts. I wish that it would be more interesting.

But being aware, the second A, of current events and other peoples' issues could also make me thankful for what I have. I have a loving and caring family and group of friends. I go to a school where people are not being knocked up or students don't get high on campus. I have food and warm clothes and a home.

Authenticity. I think this one is the hardest one to explain but the one I know best for myself. I think I can be all these different people but those people are who I am. I tend to be calm and participating in class while when I'm with my friends, I go wild. I do funky stuff, crack jokes, and groan about school. With my family, I travel, talk about what's happening around the world, make jokes, and eat out/take out/my mom's okay cooking. But no matter which of these I am, they're all still me. And whenever I'm going to a new place or try new activities, I'm realizing that there is more to me to uncover.

    2) The three A's of awesome relate to West Civ because you should try your best (most times) and have a positive attitude to get through with it easier, be aware so you actually get something out of the class, and be yourself. Don't pretend you know so much when you don't and don't hide your knowledge from others.

    3. I think family and friends are the most important to me in my life. So I guess they're awesome. I could have rough patches but they always get amended and they're there for me no matter what. They give me a hell of a time and are what keep me going. Even though school can be kind of boring and school work could be dreadful, their jokes, words of wisdom, smiles, and positivity just makes me want them to be proud of me. And I say if they can do it, so can I.

    1. How do you, or don't you, incorporate the three A's of awesome into your life? Please share with examples. I use the three A's of awesome in my life. I try to have a positive attitude most of the time, for example, when I can't motivate my self, and I just feel like doing something else, I think about the fact that when I'm older I will probably tell my grandsons how important it is to go to school and get a good job, because that's what my family always tells me. This makes me want to study really badly. I try to be authentic, have my own style and be myself, and I am aware of the people who sacrifice themselves for my safety, the troops. I also like to keep track of current events.

    2. How do the three A's of awesome relate to the West Civ course?
The Three A's of awesome relate to the West Civ course because to be in this course you need to have a good attitude towards work, not be negative and you can't procrastinate. You need to be authentic, research as much as you need to, then type up from the knowledge you gathered rather then plageryse and you need to be aware of the people you are working with in a group and not leave people out or let them do the work, find balance.
    3. What do you think is Awesome?

  19. 1) I incorporate the 3 A's of Awesome into my life by always staying positive.
    - ATTITUDE: It's how I choose to look at every situation and every obstacle that might come my way. It's important to have a positive attitude, in everything that you do, because not only does it make you mad, it makes everyone around you have a bad attitude if you are in a bad mood. For example, if I receive a bad test score and choose to be in a bad mood about it, it makes others uncomfortable around me, and they feel like not wanting to be around me. But, if I choose to accept this grade, and try to do better next time, people don't have to go through a bad day.
    - AWARENESS: It's important to be aware of things going on in our world. Keeping up with current events helps me to appreciate my life, and how blessed I am. 2 nights ago, I was eating dinner at my grandma's house, and we were watching the news. They were showing pictures of little North Korean kids, picking food from a dirty dump. They were so hungry and cold. It was then that I realized that everyone in the SFS community is so blessed to be fed daily, and we have people that care about us. For most of us, it's easy to get caught up with everything that is going on in our life, but we never stop to think about how blessed we are, until we see something that touches our heart.
-AUTHENTICITY: Authenticity is all about figuring out who you are, and finding out what you enjoy, and being proud of that. I think it's really important for people to be their own self, because if you think about it, if everyone in the world was the same, no one stood out, then our world would be so boring. It's impossible for someone to know who they are right when they're born, it takes a while for people to see who they are. That is true for me right now, because I'm still confused about who I am, and who I'm meant to become.

    2) The three A's of Awesome relate to this course because it is important for people to have a good attitude for learning and for their grades. You should be aware of what to do to prepare for this class, or what Mr. Hamm is expecting from you. It's also important for people in your class to know whether you enjoy learning about old people and what they did to change the world, of if you absolutely HATE it. It's important for people to know about your interests.

    3) Everything I enjoy is awesome. My friends and family are awesome. They support me in everything that I do, and if they don't agree with something I do, they try to talk me out of it. Things like chemistry are not awesome, because I don't enjoy learning about it. Things that are awesome are things that I enjoy doing.

  20. 1) The first A of awesome is attitude. I sometimes incorporate attitude in my life because half the time i have a positive attitude and half the time I have a negative one. I think this is the hardest one out of them all because I can loose my temper fairly quickly, and I try not to seem depressed in school when things go wrong. Im also quite sensitive, so the slightest things can tick me off and provoke me to get mad. I try my best not too, but sometimes I cant help it.

The second A of awesome is awareness. I use this in daily life because Im aware about my surroundings and things that occur near me. Also I pay close attention to things, so Im aware of whats happening and whats not. Sometimes I go away into my own world, and I dont realize whats going on around me; this is mainly because Im sleep deprived and sometimes I can get very depressed. When this happens, Im not aware of whats going on, and I get very lazy and cant be bothered to do anything.

The third A of awesome is authenticity. I try to be myself wherever im at, but sometimes I need to change my personality for different people. I understand that everyone is unique, and they should respect this in themselves, but sometimes you have to change your self for different people if you want to fit in. Many people's personality changes due to the people they hang around with. You should just be yourself and not worry about what people say about you because it defines who you are, not who someone else is.

    2) The tree A's of awesome relates to the west civ course because people may have a bad or good attitude towards the class, and history shows us how aware people were before because of all the new discoveries and different things that they did. Also it shows how effective being aware is because it improves your learning capacity. Authenticity relates to west civ because it shows that if people didn't stand up for their beliefs and not fight for their rights, the world today would have been very different.

    3) I think there many awesome things in this world; one of them is friendship. This is because friends are a big part of your life since you spend most your time with them. Also, everyone is unique in their own way so you can learn new things from different people. Finally, everyone has their own qualities and weaknesses so you should be value your unique skills and live a awesome life.

  21. 1. I try my best to incorporate the three A's of awesome into my life. Although there are high and low points in life, I try to take new steps and move on. Like Neils Pasricha said,no one knows the future, and it is best to look at it with a positive attitude. When I get a bad grade for school, I always try to be positive and try to do better next time.

I have a little trouble with the second "A", awareness. Since I've lived in Seoul all my life, I've been taking everything about it for granted. For example, now I don't notice the beautiful view of Korea or the nice weather. However, I've recently been trying to see things as a three year old, and have found more happiness by being more aware of my surroundings.

Finally, I believe that I am incorporating the third "A" (authenticity) well. I follow my heart and do things that, not my parents or my friends would like me to do, but what I like to do. For example, something I love doing, is playing sports. I play at least one sport a day and get a fulfilled feeling whenever I play. Another thing I love is music. I can sit in front of the piano for hours on some days and play till I get tired.

    2. The three A's of awesome relate to the West Civ course in several ways. In order to learn a lot in class, you must have a positive attitude. If you have a positive attitude, you will become more excited to learn new things. Even if you receive a bad mark on a test or project, you have to choose to move forward and try better next time. Awareness is important for West Civ class because you have to be aware of your surroundings and look at things in different perspectives. Finally authenticity is related to West Civ because you have to learn to enjoy learning. If you enjoy learning, learning will become much more interesting for you. Also, if we do projects, you should just be yourself and do what you like to do. For example, if you like making movies or podcasts, maybe you can make your next project into a short clip.

    3. I think many things are awesome. The most awesome, fascinating thing I can think of is relationships between family and friends. People may not notice how important it is, until it is lost. Relationships make you feel connected, and make you feel like you always have someone to count on. In my opinion, my relationship with my brother is very important. Although we may fight, a lot, I always know my brother will be there to talk to, depend on, and trust.

  22. 1. I try my best to incorporate the three A's of awesome into my life. I always try to keep with positive attitude. Even if I do not do an excellent job on exams or quizzes, I remind myself to be positive because there is always a next chance. I do not give up, and if I have any concerns, I tell my friends or parents for more supports.

I am very ware of surroundings. I always look around to remind myself the importance of my environment, and I actually learned that this is very important. I often notice the beauty of the sight and significance of the people around me.

I believe I am incorporating authenticity as well. I do not follow other people, but try to be myself. I do not fake myself for benefits, but I show myself to others because I sincerely trust myself. Even if I regret, I do not want to regret over choices that were not made by me but others. Many people think it is embarrassing to dance in front of others, but I chose to be one of the dance members in our school, and I am very proud of myself for making a wise choice.

    2. The three A's of awesome does relate to the West Civ course. It is very important to have positive attitude. It helps you to be more educate and learn more facts from it, and you can actually have fun learning them. Awareness is significant as well because you have to be aware from many perspectives. It is not good to think in one way. You should think in many ways to learn more facts, and it helps you even more to challenge yourself. Authenticity is related to West Civ course because you actually have to have fun learning more history and facts. At the same time, it is very important to think in your way because that is how you improve yourself in West Civ. Even when you work on your project or speech, it is always good to be yourself and show who you are.

    3. There are many awesome things in this world. I love people around me, especially my family and my friends. Relationships are always important because they are the ones who support you when you are struggling or having difficulties in your life. I cannot imagine myself without any of them because they are my life.

  23. Added to my number 3) Many other things apart from friends are awesome. For me, I think its awesome when you come home and your dog jumps at you and licks you. This feels really good for me, and I also think walking in the rain without a umbrella is very fun and awesome also.

  24. I had been incorporating the 3 A's awesome through out my life and the funny thing is that I hadn't being knowing that. However, I realized that it's not only me all those people who replied to blog have been incorporating it.

Attitude. I had always been thinking that I had a better attitude than anyone else, but I was wrong. I never moved out of my home country, India, I had always lived there through out my life time. However, I had come to leave India and come to Korea due to my dad's job. At the beginning I enjoyed when I learnt that I was moving abroad. I used to tease my friends that they didn't had the chance to move. I never knew that the life in Korea would be much worse than India. When you leave a place where you have been living in for over fifteen years with the same people and the same environment, you would never chose to live there anymore. When you come to a foreign place then you realize that how foolish you were. You start to think that your previous place was much better. You may also think that the old place was the best. I always had attitude that rested. Changes would never let my attitude rise. I realized that changes might pop up anytime anywhere and thus one should have a good attitude to resist the problems associated with that change.

Awareness. The day I came in to this alien world I was so excited to have some change and see new things. I was a 2 hour old baby of that world who enjoys each and everything he sees. Different cars, different roads, different language, different people, different culture, different race everything amazed me. I did all the childish stuff to make myself satisfied that I am enjoying everything. It was only a month ago when I first heard the name "Korea". I surfed the pages of atlas and found that the place was not even a tenth of my homeland. I expected the place to be fully filled with Eastern culture, but I realized that it was more like American. The school I was supposed to be called as Seoul Foreign School. I expected only blonde people there. It was to my surprise that 80% of the people were Sharped eyed people that is Korean looking people. Fortunately none of them spoke in Korean to me. Even though they spoke in English it wasn't comfortable to me in speaking English as i don't normally use that. Thus awareness of everything helped me resist to feel like home.

Authenticity. I have never used English as a colloquial language of mine before. I used English only in official purposes that is 6 hours a day. In my new school every one speak English, rather than speaking Hindi which I used to speak with my friends made me uncomfortable. I never used English with my friends. I was little hesitant to speak in English to make them feel that I was one of them. Suddenly I realized that I could never make my English as theirs and spoke in my own way. These alien people of my life were getting entertained listening to my English. Slowly I ignored their reactions and tried to be myself. To my surprise I improved my language in a month. There was no force on me to speak like them. It had only came up with being authentic in my language and listening to the new English. If one had put an English boy in streets of New Delhi, surely the boy might speak better Hindi than me. Being authentic, however, resisted me in making couple of friends but yet I was too comfortable with it.
